DALLAS (September 10, 2003) – Mary Kay Inc., one of the largest direct sellers of skin care and color cosmetics in the world, continued its year-long 40th anniversary celebration today by announcing the opening of Mary Kay Poland, the company’s 34th international market.

More than 1 million Independent Beauty Consultants are running their businesses in 34 markets on five continents. All Mary Kay independent sales force members purchase high-quality skin care and color cosmetics direct from the company at wholesale, then resell the Mary Kay® products direct to consumers at a retail price.

The company achieved another record year of results in 2002, generating nearly $1.6 billion in wholesale revenue, and is on pace to continue that momentum in 2003.

Mary Kay Poland, headquartered in Warsaw, will be led by General Manager Ewa Kudlinska-Pyrz, who has previously worked with other high-profile consumer product companies, including Clinique, Dior, Guerlain, Clarins and a chain of perfumeries, Ina Center.

Mary Kay Poland will operate from offices located in Warsaw, occupying space on the main floor of one of the city’s newest office complexes. The office is located near the city center and in close proximity to public transportation. The company’s warehouse is located on the outskirts of the city, adjacent to major transportation arteries.

Mary Kay Poland will launch with a product line featuring more than 100 high-quality skin care and color cosmetics and body care products, headed by the company’s patented TimeWise® age fighting products. The company anticipates expanding its Polish product line in 2004.
